Job Description

Summary:

Are you passionate about quality and meticulous about the details? We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Manager who can do more than just spot flaws - they prevent them. This role is key to ensuring our products don’t just meet standards…they set them.

You’ll lead efforts across quality, reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance. From analyzing warranty and manufacturing data to managing the CAPA system and owning the NPI quality process, you’ll be hands-on with strategy and execution. You’ll guide continuous improvement, manage a sharp quality inspection team, and support training to keep standards high.

Your impact will reach across all Winston manufacturing units, including Win2uit.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering-related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in an Engineering or Quality Management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Sharp, proactive thinking skills; you see potential issues before they become actual problems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a deep commitment to quality.
  • A solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, and process engineering (especially if it ties into the foodservice world). Bonus points if you’ve worked with fryers, ovens, or anything that cooks.

Responsibilities

  • Champion of product quality, reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Improve and maintain our QMS to ensure operational excellence and a great customer experience.
  • Analyze warranty and First Pass Yield (FPY) data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration on quality and manufacturing initiatives.
  • Own the CAPA system—track corrective actions, monitor outcomes, and ensure lasting results.
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for NPI quality processes.
  • Partner with engineering to develop and launch new products to ensure quality at every step.
  • Manage and mentor the quality inspection team, support training for manufacturing staff and managers.
  • Address customer needs related to product quality, including occasional travel to customer or vendor sites.
  • Gain deep knowledge of our manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee product testing procedures to uphold performance and quality standards.
  • Understand product functionality to support both internal teams and customer inquiries.
  • Develop troubleshooting expertise to resolve product issues quickly.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of Control Plans across production areas.
  • Ensure QMS processes remain ISO 9001 compliant and support audit readiness.

What Culture is like at Winston:

We’re a business, and yes, profits matter. But we don’t make decisions based solely on the bottom line at Winston. We value our people as much as our performance. Every team member plays a key role, and we genuinely appreciate what each person contributes.

We work hard to make Winston a better place to work every day. We prioritize culture and love to grow talent from within, but we also welcome fresh perspectives from outside. Are we perfect? Not quite. But we stay focused on our vision: make money and have fun doing it.

What are the unique demands?

Physical Demands:

This role involves a mix of sitting, walking, and standing, sometimes all within the same shift. Occasionally, you’ll need to lift or carry up to 50 lbs., or move finished products weighing over 100 lbs.

Travel:

Expect limited travel, less than 25%, which could be domestic or international, depending on the customer or vendor's needs. Planes, trains, and automobiles—you might see a bit of it all.
