We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with a strong background in solid waste services to support HDR's Waste Program in the New England area. This role involves collaboration with HDR's Resources and Waste leadership and local teams to support program development. The ideal candidate will have senior-level expertise in managing projects such as landfills, transfer stations, MRFs, WTE, organics processing, and waste planning. Responsibilities include managing project scopes, schedules, budgets, providing facility planning and engineering support, and maintaining client relationships through project execution and business development. The role also involves market analysis, proposal development, site visits, and client presentations. Experience with feasibility studies, cost estimating, capital planning, and operational monitoring across North American solid waste facilities is required. In this role, you'll: Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of multidisciplinary projects with high technical complexity, often involving a large staff. Establish client relationships and participate in business development and marketing activities. Coordinate staffing and workload to meet project deadlines. Implement QA/QC procedures. Work on various municipal solid waste projects including landfills, compost facilities, transfer stations, MRFs, hazardous waste facilities, WTE, and organics facilities. Collaborate with staff engineers on design deliverables such as planning, reports, drawings, specifications, estimates, and schedules. Participate in meetings with clients and regulators to resolve issues and ensure compliance. Supervise waste and construction management projects as needed. Perform independent technical analysis and report preparation. Delegate tasks and supervise junior staff and technicians. Train and mentor team members in line with strategic plans. Additional responsibilities include: Supervising project staff and mentoring less experienced team members. Supporting marketing efforts and developing client relationships. Building partnerships with key stakeholders and team members. Developing marketing strategies and proposals for solid waste clients. Collaborating with local leadership to identify opportunities and grow the sector. Assisting in recruiting and retaining key talent. Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. PMP certification. Experience with New England waste regulations. Experience with waste master planning and diversion programs is a plus. Zero waste certification or experience is preferred. Experience with organics management and facility design is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Local candidates are preferred.
