Surgical Tech FT Days at Saint Vincent Hospital summary:

The Surgical Technologist supports surgical teams by preparing and managing surgical instruments and equipment during operations. They ensure sterile environments and assist under the supervision of nurses and surgeons for a variety of surgical procedures. Certification and experience in surgical technology are required to provide safe and effective patient care in an advanced hospital setting.

Position Summary:

The Operating Room Surgical Technologists work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse circulator to facilitate safe and effective care. Functions in a professional manner on a wide variety of surgical procedures. Selects and prepares the appropriate supplies and equipment for the surgical cases. Scrubs on surgical cases, operates surgical equipment, participates in surgery by organizing the instrumentation, participating in surgical counts, and performs related activities under the direction of the Registered nurse circulator and surgeon.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: :

Required: Graduate of an Accredited School of Surgical Technology

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: :

One year experience working as a certified surgical technologist preferred.

PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), BLS required
