Summary SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager, this position is responsible for providing administrative and operational direction to GMI, Inc. Resource Management and / or Waste Management in handling scrap, recyclable, non-hazardous and hazardous waste generated from the process of building automobiles. This position is responsible for supporting the administrative, operational, and reporting requirements of Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky. The responsibilities of this position include assuring the applicability of the Environmental Policy, monitoring overall Environmental Management System (EMS) performance, assuring regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in the protection of the environment and reduction of pollution from the activities within the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Supports the company business, operational, financial and environmental objectives.
- Participates in the definition, implementation and monitoring of safety guidelines.
- Communicates company policies to Group Leaders/Team Leaders
- Contributes to the development of environmental objectives, targets and programs
- Monitors overall EMS performance
- Assures regulatory compliance
- Assures continuous improvement
- Uses PC - word processing, spreadsheets, databases, communications, Internet
- Has ability to touch type .
- Coordinates vendor activities.
- Establishes or adjusts work assignments to coordinate flow of material, recommends measures to improve methods and equipment performance.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency
- Assists Group Leaders in solving work problems
- Instructs and guides other employees in preparing monthly report
- Reviews monthly customer report, which documents all business activities of all programs
- The assistant manager must be qualified to perform the job responsibilities of the Group Leaders reporting to the position
- Must be flexible to stagger between shifts.

SUPERVISORY RESONSIBILITIES Directly manages Group Leaders within Resource and Waste Management. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma and Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or one to two years of related experience and/or training preferably in facilities or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION OSHA 10 or 30.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Must have the ability to write legibly, read and comprehend complex instructions, regulations, correspondence, and memos. Must have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, within the organization and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to create and interpret graphs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet, humid, extreme cold, and extreme heat conditions.
