Responsible for directing daily workflow in the grossing room of the histology laboratory. Works with the Supervisor in determining appropriate policies and procedures are followed and regulatory guidelines met. Provides clinical services in the form of anatomic pathology gross examination. Trains and develops new pathologists’ assistants in conjunction with pathologist’s direction and with coordination with Supervisor. Job Requirements Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in a related field AND completion of a Pathologist Assistant training program Experience Required: 3 years experience as a Pathologist Assistant Preferred: Prior Managerial/Supervisory Experience Skills Excellent organizational, customer relations, planning and analytical skills Strong mental and visual concentration Working knowledge of computer, computerized equipment, prev. exp, in lab, organization, team skills Ability to monitor and compile data and disseminate results to multiple levels of leaders and employees Must be able to initiate and understand research related to projects; proficient in Microsoft office Licensure/Certification/Registration Required: ASCP Pathologists' Assistant certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire
