Home Health Aide - VNS in Westchester at CareConnect summary:

The Home Health Aide provides compassionate in-home care to clients, assisting with daily living activities, personal hygiene, and mobility under nurse supervision. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, light housekeeping, medication assistance, and maintaining communication with healthcare teams while adhering to confidentiality and infection control standards. This role requires certification, reliable transportation, and a commitment to improving clients' safety and comfort in their homes in the Westchester area.

We're looking flexible (part time, full time or weekend only) certified Home Health Aides in the Dobbs Ferry area to be at the heart of our client's care. As a home health aide with VNS in Westchester you will provide exceptional care that our clients rely on to stay safe at home.

Duties:

• Provides comprehensive support in personal hygiene, grooming, and daily living activities, including bathing, oral care, and dressing.
• Measures and records vital signs, reports deviations, and assists with medication management under nurse supervision.
• Aids clients with mobility tasks, such as transferring to and from beds, chairs, and assisting with walking aids.
• Performs light housekeeping tasks, including laundry, dish washing, and maintaining the client's living environment.
• Effectively communicates with clients, families, and health care team members while maintaining accurate records of care and client status.
• Adheres to infection control practices, maintains confidentiality, completes continuing education, and demonstrates professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications:

• You NEED to be a Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) in the state of NY
• You need to have reliable transportation
• Eligible to work in the United states
• Fluent in English (able to speak and understand)
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality.
• Ability to cook simple meals and perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
• Satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department-approved HHA Training Program or equivalency
• Demonstrated adequate literacy and simple arithmetic skills
• Must be at least 18 years old
