Your Role:

We are seeking a collaborative and motivated individual to join the Global Medical Unit (GMU) Neurology & Immunology (N&I) team as a Medical Director focused on lupus. This role is pivotal in building, monitoring, tracking, managing, and assisting with the implementation of GMU strategic initiatives. The Medical Director (all genders) will provide scientific and medical leadership from pre-launch through the entire product life cycle, particularly in support of the development of enpatoran program and a robust lupus franchise.

Key Responsibilities

Integrated Evidence Strategy:

  • Execute the Integrated Evidence Plan (IEP) aligned with the scientific narrative, positioning, and Target Product Value Proposition (TPVP).
  • Consider a broad scope of data sources, including clinical trials, phase IV programs, registries, and real-world evidence (RWE).
  • Develop 'Go/No-Go' criteria to guide country organizations in discussions with local investigators regarding Investigator-Sponsored Studies (ISS).
  • Integrate external and internal insights to create scientific questions that align with behavioral change concepts in physicians, patients, and allied healthcare professionals (HCPs).
  • Identify deficiencies, needs, or improvements in data/knowledge required to achieve product goals in lupus therapy areas.
  • Conduct critical reviews and provide input on data used in content creation.
  • Identify key points along the patient journey where data could influence clinical decisions and ensure data gaps inform innovative evidence generation and subsequent clinical trial design.

HCP Insight Specialist:

  • Collect insights and create and implement action plans to reveal key insights that support clinical decision-making.
  • Transform raw data into compelling stories that drive change and work cross-functionally to embed insights into key initiatives.
  • Monitor external trends and events to anticipate opportunities and threats relevant to medical affairs.
  • Plan, run, and synthesize insights from advisory board meetings to gather feedback from external experts regarding the asset's development, positioning, and use in clinical practice.

Scientific Narrative Strategist:

  • Develop the scientific narrative in alignment with the TPVP, IEP, and asset strategy.
  • Coordinate internal alignment and integrate feedback for the scientific narrative.
  • Seek external validation of the scientific narrative and implement feedback.
  • Ensure the scientific narrative remains current with the latest information and is segmented to cater to different internal and external stakeholders.

Field Medical Material & Training Specialist

  • Design and produce high-quality, scientifically accurate materials, such as slide decks, brochures, and FAQs, tailored to the needs of field-based medical teams.
  • Ensure all materials comply with regulatory standards, legal requirements, and industry codes of practice, including accurate representation of clinical data.
  • Collaborate with medical, clinical, and commercial teams to align field materials with product strategies and clinical evidence.
  • Manage the review and approval process for medical field materials, ensuring timely distribution and availability.
  • Monitor and incorporate feedback from field teams and healthcare professionals to continuously improve the relevance and impact of materials.
  • Develop and deliver asset-specific content and data training based on field materials.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MD/PhD/PharmD) with a strong background in lupus, both systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE).
  • At least 6 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on preclinical and clinical R&D (phases I to IV) preferred, particularly in immunology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience leading studies, cross-functional management, and GVD experience.
  • Familiarity with integrated evidence generation strategies and behavioral insights application, particularly in the context of lupus.
  • Experience in developing high-quality scientific materials for medical field teams, ensuring relevance and impact for healthcare professionals.
  • Expertise in lupus clinical trial design, biomarker and translational research, and strategic collaboration management.
  • Strong medical/scientific writing and communication skills, with the ability to interpret and represent efficacy and safety data related to lupus.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams, demonstrating leadership and initiative in driving projects forward.
  • Demonstrated capability to establish strong scientific partnerships with key investigators in the field of lupus.

Pay range for this position: $168,100 - $252,100

Our ranges are derived from several sources, and largely reliant on relevant industry market data. Should we decide to make an offer, we will consider several factors, including but not limited to your location, skills, experience, career level, and other job-related factors.
