Quaker Mechanical is seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Estimator to join our team. This role will play a key part in preparing competitive bids, analyzing HVAC system requirements, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to support both design/build and plan/spec projects. We are a union shop servicing a wide range of commercial and industrial clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive estimates for a wide range of HVAC systems including: chillers, air handling units, packaged RTUs, unit ventilators, VAV systems, refrigeration/freezer units, exhaust systems, boilers, pumps, ATC systems, cooling towers, kitchen exhaust hood systems, and VRF systems.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to identify cost drivers.
• Coordinate and develop RFIs, submittals, and purchase orders.
• Work closely with the President, Director of Operations, and Project Management team.
• Support design/build efforts and implement value engineering strategies.
• Provide technical guidance to project managers and other internal team members.
• Participate in client and project meetings to support ongoing project development.
• Track market trends and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive and accurate bid proposals.
• Maintain detailed and organized bid records.
• Ensure estimates align with bonding requirements (up to $25M).

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an estimator in the HVAC or related construction industry.
• Proven experience with both design/build and plan/spec projects.
• In-depth technical knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC systems and components.
• Experience in unionized environments and coordinating labor needs accordingly.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and defend estimates.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary Range: $90,000 – $125,000 annually, based on experience.
