The Rides Maintenance Technician is responsible for the modification, repair, and refurbishment of equipment and facilities of a designated set of amusement rides or devices. Maintenance completes preventative maintenance, testing rides, adjusting controls, diagnosing issues, and repairing system malfunctions as they occur.
We are currently looking for a: Castle Park - Ride Maintenance Technician
Roles & Responsibilities: Pay Rate: $22/hr
Job & Responsibilities: - Conduct daily pre-opening inspections of attractions and property.
- Ability to diagnose and correct mechanical issues
- Respond to trouble calls with a sense of urgency
- Maintain the property in a clean, presentable, and safe manner
- Perform repairs and service as directed by the manufacturers' requirements and specifications
- Perform preventative maintenance such as painting, battery, replacement, smoke detector checks, HVAC Cleaning, door/lock repairing, plumbing, cleaning, painting, drywall repair, basic carpentry, electrical repairs, and various other issues that arise
- Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations
- Utilize proper PPE, depending on the nature of the job
- Maintains all storage areas, shops, and mechanical areas in a clean, safe, organized, and secure manner
- Complete repair work orders in a timely manner
- Keep the maintenance and park leaders fully informed of any corrective issues needed
- All other duties assigned by leadership
Education: - High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered
- 1-2 years previous work experience in maintenance or mechanics highly desired
- Previous work experience performing maintenance on roller coasters, amusement rides, or other attractions desired but not required
Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
Requirements: - Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with California Child Labor Laws.
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record
- Must possess strong mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner
- Must possess proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and small combustion engine repair
- Ability to tear down and correctly reassemble machines, equipment or devices
- Ability to read and comprehend ride maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
Physical Requirements: - Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, climb, or squat for long periods of time
- Ability to remain on feet for majority of the workday
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objecting weighing 75 pounds or more
- Ability to work in all non-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts
- Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tool
- Ability to see difference between colors and brightness
- Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away
Working Conditions - Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, and other weather conditions
- Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, and exposure to various chemicals and greases
- Subject to bloodborne pathogens; Proper PPE is required in these situations
- Subject to working at significant heights greater than 100 feet
