Job Title: Apartment Leasing Agent (Low-Income Housing Community)
Location: Albany, NY
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary:

We are seeking a professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented Apartment Leasing Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in helping individuals and families find housing within our community, guiding them through the leasing process, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet prospective residents, answer inquiries, and schedule/show apartment units.
  • Assist applicants with completing rental applications and required paperwork.
  • Verify applicant information, income, and eligibility in compliance with affordable housing regulations (e.g., LIHTC).
  • Conduct apartment tours and explain community amenities, policies, and leasing terms.
  • Maintain accurate records, files, and leasing documentation.
  • Follow up with prospects and applicants in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support property management team with lease renewals, notices, and general administrative tasks.
  • Foster a positive, respectful atmosphere for residents and visitors.

Qualifications:

  • Previous leasing or property management experience preferred (especially in affordable/low-income housing).
  • Knowledge of federal/state housing programs such as LIHTC, Section 8, or HUD is a plus.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and property management software (e.g., Yardi, Rent Café) a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certification a plus.
